I'm developing a theory about trying too hard. It seems sometimes, that either it works or it doesn't, and overworking, or even slowing down and being careful can kill the flow of a drawing. This sketch was quick and somewhat 'thoughtless', yet more successful than anything I've done in the last month. Then again maybe, it's because I've been drawing more in the last few days and am 'loosened up'.
Estoy completamente de acuerdo contigo: cuanto menos premeditado y más fugaz, mejor el dibujo. Más suelto y espontáneo, más vivo. Pero también cuanto menos trascendente. Mejor sobre un viejo papel que un lienzo. Mejor sin importancia, si se hace sólo para uno mismo.
